This video refers to all babies who are no longer curled up tightly in a foetal position as most newborns are. The stretching out of a baby differs from baby to baby and may be as early as 2 weeks to a month and a half after birth. When in doubt follow your baby’s cues. If they fidget and seem uncomfortable when carried with their legs tucked in; take the legs out as shown in this video.

ALWAYS ensure that the baby is sitting in a FROG-LEGGED position. That is, with knees apart and higher than the base of their bottom. The legs and bottom should be in the form of an M; with the knees forming the shoulders of the M and the bottom being the low dip in the middle.
